Remarkably, The Profs has become the first dedicated online tutoring company to receive this distinction in the award programme’s 60-year history.
The King’s Award for Enterprise is the highest official award for UK businesses. It celebrates organisations that demonstrate outstanding achievement in one of four categories: Innovation, International Trade, Sustainable Development, and Promoting Opportunity.
Each application is subject to a rigorous evaluation process that assesses financial performance, growth, governance, and long-term impact before the award is approved by His Majesty The King on the recommendation of the Prime Minister.

Over the past 3 years, The Profs has achieved significant international expansion, with overseas revenue increasing by more than 65%. Demand has grown across key markets including the United States, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Belgium, and Switzerland, reflecting a wider global trend: international students increasingly view British education as a pathway to long-term success.
At the same time, pursuing that goal has become more demanding. The rise of tuition fees, changing visa policies, and intensified competition for university places have raised the stakes for students investing in higher education.

Each year, the King’s Award is presented to a relatively small group of outstanding organisations. In 2026, only 185 businesses were chosen across all categories, which reinforces the award’s reputation as one of the most prestigious honours available to UK companies.
Since its inception in 1965, the Award’s programme has recognised more than 8,000 businesses, marking six decades of celebrating innovation and growth.
The King’s Award for Enterprise is presented to recipients by Lord-Lieutenants who serve as the King’s local representatives in each county. These official, ceremonial presentations typically occur at the winning company’s premises.
The King’s Award for Enterprise is valid for five years, during which recipients are permitted to display the official royal emblem on their marketing materials, communications, and branding. This recognition signals to clients, partners, and stakeholders that the organisation has met the highest standards of performance and integrity.
