Can You Get Into University With Bad GCSEs?

Yes, it is possible to get into university with bad GCSEs. You may be limited in your choice of university but it is still possible to get into even the best universities with poor GCSEs if you have very strong A levels or equivalent as well as an outstanding personal statement.

There are certain limits, however. The majority of university courses require at least a grade 4 or 5 (a C grade) in English, Maths and sometimes Science. If you also have a poor GCSE grade in the subject you are applying to study, you will likely not be successful unless you can provide a good reason for why you underperformed in your GCSEs in your personal statement and any potential interview.
