Oxford anatomy demonstrator and graduate entry Medicine student with a First-Class BSc in Molecular Genetics and PhD in Regenerative Medicine from Edinburgh.

Azzurra holds a First-Class BSc (Hons) in Molecular Genetics from the University of Edinburgh and completed a PhD at the Centre for Regenerative Medicine in Edinburgh, where she focused on RNA biology and stem cells. Now, she is a graduate entry Medicine student at the University of Oxford. Azzurra’s academic journey is marked by her passion for science, reflected in her top-tier academic achievements and numerous accolades, including the bronze medal at the International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) competition and the Best Presentation award at the Wellcome Centre Retreat. Azzurra has extensive experience in teaching and mentoring, having supported students from high school to PhD level. During her time at Edinburgh, she served as President of the Edinburgh Young Scientific Researcher Association, where she led student researchers in developing and presenting their projects. In her PhD, she provided hands-on guidance in molecular biology techniques and offered mentorship for PhD interview preparation. At Oxford, she is an anatomy demonstrator, teaching first-year undergraduates and graduate students using prosections and models, and serves as the academic lead for the William Sweet Society, where she organises and supervises teaching sessions and study skills workshops.
